This series of events will be held at two locations this year at The Byrd Park & *Battery Park Courts! Spectators and tennis players of all skill levels are invited to join this celebration of Richmond can come together to build communities, empower youth, and contribute to a legacy of greatness.

*Our July 11th event we will be hosting the Arthur Ashe Jr. Birthday Celebration at Battery Park!

How We Play

  • Adult (19 and over) Men’s and Women’s Doubles

  • 3 divisions each based on skill level

  • Best of 4-game short-set, 7-point tiebreaker, no ad scoring

  • Timed match: Sudden death point at 20 minutes if tied

  • Non-stop Round-Robin Doubles competition

  • Pre-competition clinic open-to-all (Adults, Kids)

Growing Tennis in RVA

Tennis Under the Lights was first established as part of the Arthur Ashe Boulevard renaming celebration in 2019. This year in 2024 Tennis Under the Lights returns as a series of four events, inviting the Richmond community of tennis players and public to come together and build strong bonds, empower youth and encourage health and fitness through tennis.

Proceeds benefit junior and adult tennis development in Richmond through the non-profits of The Richmond Tennis Association and Metro Richmond Tennis Club
