It’s a celebration of Arthur Ashe, Jr.’s July 10th birthday and the 50th anniversary of his July 5, 1975 Wimbledon win, becoming the first and only black man in history to win the title. Tennis and Richmond dignitaries will lead a dedication ceremony.

Join us for a party and prizes to promote junior tennis pathways as well as conduct The Rising Stars Tennis Academy summer session graduation and awards ceremony. This session also features an exhibition match featuring a top Richmond player.

Join us in celebrating Richmond’s Metro Tennis Club as we honor the service and contributions to youth tennis in RVA over 25 years. Also, we will honor their president and local tennis advocate, as he has spearheaded the program and the success of youth in and around Richmond.

This will be an evening dedicated to the Black Tennis Hall of Fame, including its “Breaking The Barriers” Exhibition, brought to you by The Black Tennis Hall of Fame. Come out to see this walking wall exhibit, narrated by founder Dale Caldwell.
